NewsX to be rebranded to NewsY

The English news channel NewsX, formerly a part of the INX Network, will soon be rechristened to NewsY, in a major revamp exercise.

Since Indi Media took over the business of NewsX, it has been busy realigning and restructuring its business in an attempt to strengthen operations.

A channel spokesperson says, “The channel will have a new avatar. The re-branded channel will have a new identity, including a new logo, look and a few changes in the content.”

Besides, the pay-channel has decided to become free to air. The idea is to increase sampling. The spokesperson says, “Most of the news channels go pay only theoretically. The reality is that news channels don’t make subscribers pay for the channel.”

“Going free to air will have dual benefits for us. First, the sampling for the channel will increase and secondly, we will save the cost on inscription software,” the spokesperson adds.
