News18 to cease broadcasting on Sky in UK this week

News18 will follow ABP News by shutting down in the UK market this week, its been confirmed.

News18, which broadcasts as CNN-News18 in India, is owned by Network18. The channel is distributed internationally by IndiaCast, which also operates Colors, Colors Rishtey and Colors Cineplex.

News18 recently moved from the International category on the Sky EPG, so it can focus on a little more of Hindi news to attract new viewers but the strategy proved futile. The channel will now cease broadcasting on Sky channel 713 on Wednesday 1st July.

Meanwhile, ABP News will also be exiting the UK market on Tuesday 30th June at midnight.
