News18 India becomes just ‘News18’ in UK

In a slight name change, Network18’s international news channel, News18 India has been renamed to just News18.

It is not yet known why the broadcaster has dropped ‘India’ from its name. While, the name change has taken on official documentation to agencies, the channel’s on-screen identity remains as ‘News18 India’.

It is speculated that the name change could be down to the channel moving away from just India news, with more global affairs being covered.

News18 is available on Sky channel 577.
