News channels switch to Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad
Leading South Asian news channels in the UK, including Aaj Tak, WION, and NDTV World, have transitioned to rolling coverage following the Air India crash, which occurred this afternoon (local time) in Gujarat.
The flight, AI171, was en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick when it crashed just minutes after take-off. In a post on X, Air India acknowledged the incident, stating that the flight had been “involved in an incident today.”
London Gatwick Airport confirmed the crash in a statement, revealing that the flight had been scheduled to land at 6:25pm in London on Thursday.
