New owners takeover Asian Woman magazine

The publication house that produces popular titles like Asian Woman and Asian Bride and the Asian Bride Show has been bought out by the Jayson Emerald Media Corporation (JEM Corp Ltd).

Managing Director of JEM Corp Ltd and Editor of the publications J Wimal has joined forces with business tycoon Sonit Shringi to purchase the renowned family of publications.

This ends entrepreneur Nasa Khan’s (Asian Interactive Media) reign as the owner of the hugely successful titles. He had been associated with the Asian Woman magazine since its inception in 2001. Even though Nasa has exit from the publication, he has offered to lend support to the new owners.

The rare combination of an Editor turned Owner J Wimal, 30 has been with the magazines since joining as Features Writer in 2006. After being made Editor in 2009 Ms Wimal has been steadily breaking new ground with the titles, including featuring mainstream artists The Sugababes in their first Asian fashion cover shoot.

“The offer of a job at Asian Woman magazine was unexpected and something I initially accepted to broaden my horizons۪. I fell in love with the job almost immediately and today Asian Woman magazine has become a part of me and I can۪t imagine my life without it. So I bought the company.”

Ms Wimal۪s business partner, JEM Corp Executive Director and shareholder Sonit Shringi, 30 said, “I was drawn to the opportunity to get on board a world renowned brand which already has a huge following. I’m now looking forward to further expanding on the world-wide reach of our magazines and events.۝ Having previously owned several acclaimed bar/restaurants, Shringi brings a specialist background in the hospitality and events industry to the brand that also hosts the widely reputed annual Asian Bride Show at Wembley Stadium.

Ownership by JEM Corp Ltd marks an exciting new chapter in Asian Woman magazine’s story and will bring a financial injection of several million pounds to the title and its sister publications. Investors say the combination of Ms Wimal۪s keen creative acumen and long background with the magazines together with Mr Shringi۪s formidable business expertise will prove a force to be reckoned within a flourishing and increasingly competitive industry.

The first bumper packed edition of Asian Woman under new management is set to hit newsstands in the coming weeks. J Wimal said, “It’s a seriously huge load. I’ve been at the office till 10/11 at night, seven days a week since I took over. But I’m happier than ever i ever thought possible and very excited about the future of the brand.
