New head takes over at ZEE Network UK/Europe

ZEE Network UK and Europe has a new head, BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

Govind Shahi, who was previously heading ZEE television business in UK/Europe and Carnival business, has been unveiled as the territory head in charge of Europe. He officially started his new role on Wednesday 1st October.

Shahi has been instrumental in the success of the ZEE Carnival, which will celebrate its fourth year next February. Last year the event proved a mammoth hit after members of the public were turned away at the entrance due to an overwhelming response. He was also behind the Miss World (held in London) contest in 2000, the same year in, which Priyanka Chopra won the coveted title.

Shahi has also been behind the launches of ZEE Russia and ZEE Radio.

As part of the organisation restructure Shahi’s predecessor Subroto Bhattacharya has been named as the territory head for ZEE TV USA. Before ZEE Network UK, Subroto was the head of sales at ZEE TV USA.

Both Subroto and Govind will report to Bharat Ranga, President International Business of ZEE Network.

Also a part of the new changes at the network, VS Tuli has been confirmed as the new head of sales.
