Netflix unveils huge UK operations in Shepperton

Netflix will this week unveil its global expansion, with a new entertainment hub in the world-famous Shepperton Studios in Surrey.

Sky News reports that Netflix will announce the bonanza agreement alongside Shepperton’s owner Pinewood Group on Friday. It is expected to be rolled out from October this year.

The deal will be seen as a major boost for the UK’s entertainment industry, with huge investment in original content for the UK. It will guarantee Netflix exclusive access to most aspects of Shepperton’s studios, including 14 sound stages. The deal has been anticipated for over six months.

Pinewood Studios is known to be the production base for some of the most successful Hollywood films including ‘Star Wars’ and ‘James Bond’ franchise.
