Netflix to premiere ‘Udta Punjab’ before TV

Netflix has announced the exclusive premiere of hit film ‘Udta Punjab’ on its platform, before telecast on TV.

‘Udta Punjab’ tells the story of socio-economic decline in the affluent north Indian state of Punjab due to drug abuse. Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles play characters from different walks of life, and the film journeys into the artificial highs and the real lows they face in their fight against drugs.

The film, which caused uproar prior to its release last year due to its censorship issues, is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Productions.

‘Udta Punjab’ is available on Netflix as of 1st January 2017.
