Netflix set to premiere nine Bollywood films directly on platform

Netflix is joining its rivals, Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar to premiere big movie titles directly on its platform, skipping a release at cinemas due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Reports suggest that up to nine Indian films will premiere on Netflix between now and the end of the year. An official announcement from Netflix is expected on Thursday 16th July.

Bollywood Hungama reports the tentative list of films, which include Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’, Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Torbaaz’, Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam’s ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’, Kiara Advani’s ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’, Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Ludo’, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Raat Akeli Hai’, Parineeti Chopra’s ‘The Girl On The Train’ (pictured), Anurag Kashyap’s next with Alaya F and Anil Kapoor’s ‘Ak vs AK’.

Recently, Hotstar announced a slate of seven big movies, which will premiere on its platform including ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, ‘Sadak 2’, ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’, ‘The Big Bull’, ‘Dil Bechara, ‘Lootcase’ and ‘Khuda Hafiz’.
