Neeraj Pandey keen to remake hit film ‘Puthiya Niyamam’

As more and more films from the South are inspiring filmmakers in Bollywood, the next super hit South film set to have its own Hindi remake will be the Mammootty starrer ‘Puthiya Niyamam’ (2016), which Neeraj Pandey is keen to work on.

As Asian Age reports, the project is still just an idea, where Pandey hopes to bring on some big names. “’Puthiya Niyamam’ is the story of a Kathakali dancer Vasuki Iyer played by Nayanthara who was raped by her neighbours. Vasuki informs the lady DCP about the rape as she is unable to tell her husband Mammootty (who plays advocate Louis Pothen). Pandey wants to make that film now with a top Bollywood actress,” a source was reported revealing.

It went on to add, “Other characters including the husband and the firebrand female cop will also be finalised soon. The film is a family drama as well as a thriller. And, Pandey loved the film when he saw it. The film also has a revenge angle in it where the heroine takes revenge on the perpetrators.”

Known for his action dramas Pandey’s last venture was the Sidhrath Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Aiyaary’ (2018).
