NDTV has announced the launch of its independent production group, RedDot Productions.
The new project will see the broadcaster delve into creating and designing content for television and interactive media.
NDTV said RedDot Productions would offer at competitive prices an array of services like documentaries, corporate films, advertiser-driven audio-visuals, media consultancy, learning aids, spots & PSAS, training modules and various genres of television programming ranging from travel, lifestyle, youth-oriented and reality-based shows.
An independent division within NDTV Group, RedDot Productions hopes to tap overseas and domestic clients as it has over 5000 hours of active programming under its belt.
“RedDot is a team of NDTV۪s most creative and talented people. It will be producing shows not only for all our channels, but also for other non-NDTV channels. With this launch, RedDot aims at leading the country with path breaking shows and create new standards that will bring world class production qualities to India,” NDTV Group chairman Dr Prannoy Roy said.
Said RedDot Productions creative head Richa Sahai, “We do not intend to enter the GEC market in the first six months. So in a way, we’re staying away from the clutter. Our difference lies in the fact that we will offer a range of properties from reality shows, educational learning aids and documentaries to lifestyle programming and will cater to a variety of clients like corporates, developmental organisations and channels.”
In the past NDTV has produced shows for Discovery Travel & Living, BBC, ESPN, STAR Plus, ZEE TV, Sony TV, Pogo, Zoom and Doordarshan.
