In quite an usual move, NDTV Good Times will launch on cable platform, Virgin Media first as oppose to Sky Digital, BizAsia can reveal.

The Indian lifestyle and health channel will be the first to launch exclusively on Virgin Media until an agreement is reached with BSkyB. The channel is expected to join the Sky EPG in January. The slight delay in launching on Sky Digital is possibly down to BSkyB closing for its festive break end of this week until first week of January. No new channels will be able to launch during this time.

NDTV Good Times is India�۪s first Travel & Lifestyle channel. Launched in September 2007, it quickly became India’s top-ranked English-language lifestyle television channel. Judged as the ‘Best Fashion & Lifestyle Channel’ at the ITA (Indian Television Academy) Awards multiple times, it has also won several programming awards at the Indian Television Academy Awards, Indian Telly Awards & World Media Festival for key shows & interstitials like Highway On My Plate, No Big Deal and Making of the Kingfisher Calendar.

The channel has shows on food, fashion, travel, health & fitness, technology, pet, people, relationship and everything that celebrates Life ��� the Indian style.

NDTV Good Times will be availble on Virgin Media this Thursday (13th December) on channel 829 as part of the Asian Mela bundle. It has already carried out succesful testing a few days ago.

Virgin Media is extending its Asian TV channels with Al Jazeera English, Star Gold, UMP Stars and Rishtey all launching in the coming days.
