NDTV Ahmedabad office ransacked

A ‘Hindu Samrajya Sena’ group on Saturday ransacked the NDTV’s office in Ahmedabad and assaulted two staffers to protest the news channel’s SMS poll with noted painter M F Husain as a contender for the Bharat Ratna.

According to Salim Shaikh, one of the crew members attacked, more than 20 people, armed with hockey sticks in saffron robes, attacked the office around 11 am on Saturday. The activists, who were searching for the reporters, vandalised the office when they did not find them and beat up two office staffers. The dirty men broke office furniture, equipment, air-conditioner and left behind banners and posters of their organisation.

Meanwhile, few hours after the right wing activists vandalised the NDTV office in Ahmedabad, the Bhopal office was also attacked late on the same night by unidentified persons.
