India’s popular news broadcaster, NDTV has been advised by the Supreme Court to apologise for its Pathankot coverage, in order for a blackout to be overturned.
The news item, which featured on 2nd January 2016 has caused uproar with the India media regulator, Information & Broadcasting ministry instructing NDTV India to go off air for a day on 9th November after it revealed “sensitive details” of the attack in its coverage.
Live Mint reports senior advocate Harish Salve said that the channel is ready to furnish a letter clarifying that it carries out responsible journalism. Another hearing will take place on 31st March.
