The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has voiced concern over the CBI’s raids at the homes and offices of NDTV and its promoters.

A statement from the NBA said, “While the NBA maintains that no individual or institution is above the law, it condemns any attempt to muzzle the media and causing any interference in the free functioning of news operations. Such a move also undermines the basic tenets of free speech enshrined in the Constitution of India.”

NDTV has been a long member of the NBA. The latter said it hoped that a fair investigation would be carried out by the CBI and not venture into “concerted harassment”, according to the Hindu Business Line.
