It has been reported that Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte are all set to collaborate for their third film, this time for Honey Trehan’s next, ‘Raat Akeli Hai’, who is making his directorial debut.

According to Mumbai Mirror, both actors will be playing a lead role in the film. A source shares what the film is about and how Trehan came about choosing his lead characters. “It’s a love story set in the heartland of India. Honey was on the lookout for his leading lady for a while now and thought Radhika fit the part to the T. Radhika and Honey have known each other for many years, while Nawaz and Radhika get along well, too. She loved the script and instantly gave her nod to the project. The team is set to start shooting in January.”

Previously Trehan was meant to make his debut with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, which was a story following on from ‘Femme Fatale’ from Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ and was to be produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. But the project ended up being directed by the latter as there was some misunderstandings between the two. At the time Trehan said in a statement, “Owing to differences in creative understanding, we have mutually and amicably decided that it would be best for our film if Vishal sir took over as director.”
