Navin Chowdhry quits as Nish in ‘EastEnders’ after two years

Navin Chowdhry is set to leave his role as Nish Panesar in EastEnders after two years on the iconic BBC soap.

The actor, who first appeared in September 2022, has become a key figure in several dramatic storylines, particularly the gripping Christmas plot involving ‘The Six’.

While the exact nature of Nish’s departure is yet to be revealed, a source told The Sun, “It’s not known if Nish will be killed off, even though his health is suffering, but expect the exit to be very impactful and dramatic.” Fans are already speculating on whether his character’s health struggles will play a part in his farewell from Walford.

Chowdhry’s portrayal of the manipulative and controlling Nish Panesar has left a lasting impression on both the show’s audience and his fellow cast members. “Navin has made quite the impact on the show in the two years he has been a part of it, especially as a key part of the huge Christmas storyline with The Six. He’ll be missed by cast, crew, and viewers alike,” the source added.

Though the timing of his exit is still under wraps, it’s expected to be tied to one of the soap’s major storylines. There is speculation that it could coincide with EastEnders’ explosive Christmas episodes or even as part of the show’s 40th-anniversary celebrations next February.
