Naseeruddin Shah says some remakes should not happen

Though being involved in major hit films like ‘Umrao Jaan’ (1981), ‘Paar’ (1984), ‘Krrish’ (2004) and ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2010), actor Naseeruddin Shah firmly believes that original films should never be re-made.

Taking a step back from the camera and setting himself for the stage instead,in an interview with NDTV, Shah spoke of his strong disagreement for re-makes, “They are remaking some films that shouldn’t have been made in the first place. Take ‘Agneepath’ (2012), for example. It’s a piece of crap that could have been easily avoided.”

As well as theatre, the 60 year old has decided to take up some new hobbies and interests, ”I’m busy learning new stuff. Once you hit 60, you’ve got to try out newer things to stave off Alzheimer’s. So I’m also learning Urdu – I know how to speak but I’m learning how to read and write as well – along with carpentry!”

Does this mean Shah will be adding carpenter to his CV?
