Nargis Fakhri turns singer, debuts with Parichay

Nargis Fakhri is back in the limelight. Not for a film, but instead her singing debut.

The news has come as a surprise for all her fans and the rest of the industry. The star made her Bollywood debut with Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ (2011) opposite Ranbir Kapoor. After that that we saw Fakhri in various other films, and after that she has spent the last eight months in Los Angeles, reports Filmfare.

The song is written by Kumaar and features singer-composer Parichay and pop artist Kardinal Offishall. Fakhri will be seen in the video as a ‘fantasy chick’ singing the Punjabi chorus. Her single is an Indo-Canadian number called ‘Habitaan Vigaad Di.’

A source close to the star said, “To give the song an East-meets West flavour, the team brought mainstream Canadian rap-legend Kardinal on-board to record and film with Nargis and Parichay. For the main chorus line, she gave 100 takes because she couldn’t get the Punjabi lyrics right. She made sure to learn the correct pronunciation of every word from Parichay.”

The duo has already filmed the video in Toronto in the first week of June showcasing the city’s popular CN Tower and other stunning views.
