BizAsia had previously reported how Nargis Fakhri and Rajkummar Rao have been signed for an Indo-American film titled ‘5 Weddings’. Further news suggests that the film has been scheduled much earlier than anticipated.
According to Mumbai Mirror, both actors along with director Namrata Singh Gujral, have resided in Chandigarh where the film will be shot. Apparently having gone through a script reading only a few days ago, the cameras have already started rolling.
The film tells the story of an NRI girl visiting India as a part of a magazine assignment focusing on weddings, where her run in with a cop puts her in all kinds of trouble. When speaking to the media, Rao was reported expressing, “It also talks about life, death, lost love, transgender tangles, cultural clashes and even politics.”
‘5 Weddings’ will also be starring Golden Globe nominee Bo Derek and Oscar nominee Candy Clark.
