Nargis Fakhri on her role as Sangeeta Bijlani in ‘Azhar’

As reported by��BizAsia��last month, Nargis Fakhri has been signed on to portray the role of real-life actress Sangeeta Bijlani in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Azhar’. ��Fakhri has now gone on record to talk about the project, what intrigued her to accept the offer��and the preparation she will be doing.

Speaking to��Mumbai Mirror, Fakhri said, “I’m intrigued by the story, both excited and nervous. ��’Azhar’ is a new space for me to explore, a new challenge for me…��I definitely have to do my own research. For now I have a coach who will help me with what is necessary for this particular role…��I’ll be spending the next few evenings on the couch watching a long list of films, some that she (Bijlani) has been a part of.”

The actress also added that she is not bothered by the fact that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez had previously turned down the same role.

‘Azhar’ is a biopic on the life of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. ��Directed by Tony D’Souza, the film stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role, along with Prachi Desai, Gautam Gulati, Huma Qureshi and Nargis Fakhri.
