Actress Nargis Fakhri will be seen alongside Emraan Hashmi in Balaji’s next, ‘Azhar’.The song ‘Oye Oye’,originally from 1989 film ‘Tridev’ will be recreated for ‘Azhar’ which will feature Fakhri and another actress. The latest buzz suggests that Fakhri was uncomfortable sharing screen space with one of the shortlisted, Mandana Karimi.

Mid-Day reports that Fakhri felt that a popular name would take attention away from her character. She plays Sangeeta Bijlani in the film. However, a source from thesets says otherwise.

The source said, “The song is an important part of the flm since ‘Tridev’ starred Sanjeeta Bijlani, who was married to Mohammed Azharuddin for 14 years. The song is being shot on a grand scale and we were looking to cast some relatively known faces alongside Nargis, who essays Sangeeta’s role in the film. We had shortlisted Mandana to be a part of the song since she has worked with us in the past. It wasn’t Nargis’s decision. The team wanted to cast some new faces. So, Mandana, who had earlier agreed to do the song, was told that she was no longer part of it.”

‘Azhar’ is slated to release on 13th May.
