This has opened up the opportunity for film industries in India to once again film in the scenic Kashmir, where many of the old movies were shot.

Modi has reasoned that this change in law will cultivate new employment opportunities to the Kashmiri youth, and will also boost the value of Jammu and Kashmir as tourist destinations. None of this is possible, however, without the strong support and investment of giant film industries like Bollywood into the state, which would not only be seen in the form of filming, but also new infrastructure like cinemas.
