Nana Patekar given 10 days to respond to Maharashtra State Commission for Women

Tanushree Dutta’s revelation of being sexually harassed by Nana Patekar started an actual #MeToo movement in India. The ‘Maharashtra State Commission for Women’ issued a notice to Patekar on Tuesday. Producer Sameer Siddiqui, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, and director Rakesh Sarang have also received notices, all of whom who Dutta has named for supporting Patekar. They all have ten days to respond to the notice.

Because of the rise in complaints, the commission has also issued a notice to the ‘Cine and TV Artists’ Association (CINTAA)’ so they can redress the sexual harassment complaints. As according to Indian Express, Vijaya Rahatkar, chairperson of the women’s commission said, “As per the Act, production houses and TV artist association must have a redressal mechanism to ensure sexual harassment at sets does not happen.
