Music maestro Pritam quits ‘Raabta’

A rift has broken out between Pritam and Dinesh Vijan, director of ‘Raabta’ following a disagreement over a decision made by T-series for the films soundtrack.

According to SpotboyE, T-Series apparently want to bring in another composer to create an extra song for the ‘Raabta’ soundtrack for promotions, but the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016) composer was not happy about this and quit the project completely. Pritam even went as far as saying he doesn’t want any credit titles and if they do they are to acknowledge his company Jam 8.

The music composer soon posted a statement on Facebook to confirm what had happened. “I had decided a while back to only do solo composer albums and not have an outside song in my album. In Raabta, producers want to recreate an existing song from the music label as part of promotions so I have decided to not continue with the film and requested the producers to take out my name from the film credits and promotions and the album will be completed by my company Jam 8.”

The clause of being a solo composer for exclusive projects had been clearly stated in the contract between the ‘Race’ (2008) composer and T-Series, but it seems that the music label don’t want to comply.
