Music India begins official UK transmission

One of India’s leading music channels has officially begun broadcasting in the UK today.

Music India, which is being distributed by Leicester and London based MATV was added to the Sky Digital EPG last month but was in testing mode until today.

In its short span of time on air, Music India has managed to eat into the competitive youth market share in India and is attempting to do the same in the UK with its mix of various music genres.

The channel’s schedule consists of latest film trailers, old Bollywood music, Indi-Pop and Hindu religious music each morning through a show called ‘Jyoti’.

Music India is only the third Hindi music channel behind B4U Music and ZEE Music in this territory.

Music India is available on Sky Digital channel 829 free-to-air. Currently the EPG name displayed is “Iqra TV” but the broadcaster has put in a request to Sky for a change to this. This may take up to three months.
