Music composer Khayyam passes away, aged 92

Popular music composer, Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi has passed away at the age of 92.

The veteran has been in hospital since 15th August 2019 after being diagnosed with lung infection. He was kept in Intensive Care Unit of Sujay Hospital in Mumbai, according to Times Now.

News agency, ANI confirmed the news via a tweet. It said, “Veteran music composer, Mohammed Zahur ‘Khayyam’ Hashmi, passed away at a hospital in Mumbai.”

Khayyam was renowned for his blockbuster soundtracks like ‘Umrao Jaan’ and ‘Kabhi Kabhie’.
