Mumbai street to be named after Priyanka Chopra’s father

Priyanka Chopra’s father served as a physician for the Indian army. BizAsia has learnt that he will soon have a road named after him in Mumbai.

The name of the road will be��Lieutenant Colonel Dr Ashok Chopra Marg and it is the road which leads to Priyanka’s residence. The Chopra family are supposedly going to come together tomorrow, on Dr Chopra’s first death anniversary, for the occasion. A source spoke to Hindustan Times, “Since Priyanka is busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar�۪s next film in Barcelona, she�۪s trying to work her schedule around to return to the city for this one day. She was extremely close to her father, and she is keen on being there for this honour”.

Priyanka’s mother, Madhu, also said, “It�۪s a matter of pride and honour for us as a family”.

Dr Chopra also worked with the Army Wives Welfare Association. He died after losing a long battle to cancer last year.
