Multi Screen Media, parent company of Sony Entertainment Television Asia, will be shifting its Singapore base to India to simplify its tax structure.
TelevisionPost reports that the network has been running from Singapore since its inception, putting a strain on the company.
The website reports that the company has already got approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), the High Court and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the same. A source told the publication that it will be migrating its operations to India from 1st April. This will then result into Singapore being an offshore office of Multi Screen Media India Pvt Limited. This is expected to save substantial tax for the company.
