Multi Screen Media has sold out its Indian Premier League inventory, just days before the tournament gets underway.

MSM president Rohit Gupta told TelevisionPoint that this year the broadcaster decided to take in more sponsors. ���We increased the number of sponsors from nine last year to 12 this time around. On ��Extraaa Innings�۪we had six sponsors last year. This time around there are nine.�۝

While the IPL will also be relayed on Sony Aath and its new channel Sony Kix, Gupta explained that the packages were sold together. ���It is better for us to sell the IPL as a premium property. We will earn in excess of Rs 9 billion from the event,�۝ Gupta said.

In the UK, this year’s IPL will be broadcast behind an encryption window on Sky Sports.
