Mukul Dev replaces Raaheil in Ek Tukda Chand

ZEE TV viewers’ will see a different face in new soap Ek Tukda Chand Ka which began two weeks ago in the UK. Film star Mukul Dev will be replacing Raaheil Azam in the role of music director Aakash Kapoor from episode number 25, which wont be shown in the UK until sometime in April next year.

But why has the lead actor been replaced? “Actually there was no problem with Raaheil and it has nothing to do with his acting,” clarifies the serial?s executive producer Saroj Chandola. “The problem was that physically Raaheil didn?t suit the role and lot of viewers responded negatively to the character because they found it difficult to identify with Raaheil as Aakash Kapoor. So in consultation with the channel we decided to replace Raaheil with Mukul Dev.”

As for Mukul Dev there was no problem in accepting the role because it came his way on a platter. “If I had not accepted it then someone else would have,” he reasons. “Also, the role is very interesting and very different from what I have done on television so far.”
