‘Mr Paanwala’ to release in April, exploring the immigrant experience

The independent feature film ‘Mr Paanwala’ is due for a worldwide digital release on 3rd April.

Written by Gayatri Bhola, the film explores the emotional and cultural pressures faced by immigrants as they navigate the pull of their heritage alongside the realities of life in a new country.

The story follows characters navigating questions of love, family expectations, generational change and the search for identity—set against the contrasting backdrops of Lucknow’s rich cultural heritage and the fast-paced, modern environment of London. The filmmakers position the narrative as both intimate and widely relatable, particularly for viewers familiar with the complexities of diaspora life.

Featuring seasoned theatre actors Yashpal Sharma, Mir Sarwar and Mita Vashisht, the production places emphasis on grounded performances and authentic emotional tone.
