Mouni Roy on ‘Brahmastra’: “I’m playing the main villain”

Ayan Mukerji’s much awaited next film ‘Brahmastra’ has been creating quite a buzz for its ensemble star cast. The film boasts of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, also features Amitabh Bachchan and television star turned film actress, Mouni Roy.

Talking about her role in the film, Roy was cited in Bollywood Life saying, “I am playing the main villain in the film. I am really looking forward to it. What is more liberating for me is playing different characters that challenge me. I was surprised initially that they wanted me to play the villain.” She even added that while a lot of low brows are reserved for shows like Naagin, the director cast her after seeing her play her part in the show. “Ayan Mukerji had seen something from Naagin and felt I could play the villain. So you never know what clicks with whom. As an actor, you should be willing to experiment and be versatile otherwise you can’t learn and grow.”
