More names added to Ranveer Singh’s ’83’

With the announcement of Ranveer Singh being signed to play legendary cricket star Kapil Dev who led India to win the 1983 Cricket World Cup, fans have had their eye and ears peeled to find out who will be joining him to create the rest of the team. With the planning of the film well under way, there has been whispers of some names added to the list.

According to CineBlitz, director Kabir Khan has placed the likes of Saqib Saleem to play Vice-Captain Mohinder Amarnath, who also won ‘Man of The Match’ in the semi-finals and finals, Jiva will be filling the shoes of Dilip Vengsarkar and Tahir Raj Bhasin will essay team Captain Sunil Gavaskar.

There has been rumours that Jatin Sarna will play Yashpal Sharma, however this has yet to be confirmed.

It seems this will be one film that will set a whole new record for biopic-sport films. A whole host of versatile actors, playing some on India’s most celebrated sportsmen, will certainly have audiences running to the theatre.
