More launch details of MATV Music emerge

MATV has revealed more details about its new music channel, which launches later this month on Sky Digital.

MATV Music as the channel will eventually be known as will initially be branded Iqra TV. Its programmes will consist of mainly films and music orientated shows.

Iqra TV’s programming line-up will then submerge with shows from popular Indian channel Music India. The service has fast become a hot favourite amongst viewers in India and is expected to do the same here. Music India plans to air a 360-degree view of Hindi music and the film industry through a journey of fresh Indian music from Indipop to Bhangra, retro to remix and from Raga to Rock.

According to a source at MATV, the channel has already requested an EPG name to MATV Music but it can take up to three months.

Iqra TV launches on Monday 19th November.

MATV is also awaiting an EPG slot to launch its much talked about Sikh religious channel, Sukrit.

In the meantime, video tests of Iqra TV can be seen in the following way, off the Sky EPG:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup (4)
-> Add Channels (4)
-> Enter the frequency: 12.643 (H), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight “54207” service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> “54207” should be listed and available
