More films from YRF continue to move over to JioStar from Sony
After a quiet period, this week has seen several films from the Yash Raj Films banner transition from Sony Pictures Networks to the JioStar owned Star Gold.
In 2021, the historic deal between Yash Raj Films and Sony Pictures Networks ended, with Star TV confirmed as the new broadcast partner. As part of the arrangement, a slew of classic film titles instantly moved to Star Gold, including ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Silsila’, and ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, alongside recent hits such as ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘War’, and ‘Mardaani 2’.
Due to licence agreements with Sony, Star TV was unable to show other film titles until those contracts expired. However, over the past few days, films like ‘Sultan’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ have switched to Star TV, suggesting that additional films, including ‘Aaja Nachle’, ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Dil Bole Hadipa’, ‘Fanaa’, ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, are expected to join the line-up.
