Mohit Suri’s ‘Half Girlfriend’ at risk of being stalled?

Mohit Suri�۪s next has been causing controversy in the state of Bihar. The film, ��Half Girlfriend�۪, which will star Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, is based on Chetan Bhagat�۪s best-selling novel.

Reports in the Hindustan Times say Vijay Chandra Singh, a descendant of the former princely state in Dumraon has filed a court order to stop the filming of ��Half Girlfriend�۪. This is all because Singh has a pending defamation suit against Bhagat on the basis that his previous novel portrayed the royals to be alcoholics and gamblers.

Gaurav Gosh, whose law firm is representing the Dumaraon royals added this, ���We are also trying for a court order to get the shooting of the film stayed pending a verdict on our defamation suit.�۝

Singh has sought a permanent injunction against Bhagat and his publishers from further publication, sale and circulation of ��Half Girlfriend�۪ in its present form ���with immediate effect�۝.

Doesn’t look too good for Suri. The film is intended to release in April 2017.
