Mohit Suri on changes made to ‘Half Girlfriend’

Mohit Suri has revealed that he has made some changed to the story of Chetan Bhagat’s novel, ‘Half Girlfriend’, for his cinematic adaptation.

The director told DNA, “While Riya (the female lead) has some dark family secrets, they are not related to sexual abuse. I have moved out of that dark, sexual zone completely. I wanted it to be more of a love story and to deal with contemporary social issues relatable to women.”

Suri also added that Bhagat did not interfere with the changes made to the screenplay, although he was given the option of being involved.

The cinematic adaptation stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.
