Mobile phone operators demand ban on ‘2.0’ release

Despite being one of the biggest budget films India has seen, the makers of ‘2.0’ have found themselves in a bit of trouble, where mobile phone operators have called for the film to be banned from release.

According to Indian Express the Cellular Operators Association of India have stated that through the trailers of the Rajinikanth starrer depicts mobile phones in a negative light, which they fear would have a negative impact on consuming. “The movie falsely depicts mobile phones and mobile towers as harmful to living creatures and the environment including birds and human beings,” COAI have expressed in their statement.

With the film set to release on 29th November, only time will tell if the COAI’s complaints will be heard.
