‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ to end on Sony TV in November

Sony TV’s popular series ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ is set to go off-air in November, its been confirmed.

The show, which launched on 19th November 2019, will be bowing out after a year on-air.

Confirming the news, lead star, Shweta Tiwari told ETimes TV, “As a character, Guneet will always stay close to my heart. I am glad that the audience has been so appreciative of the show. The best part about working in a finite show is that one knows the story arch and can work on the character accordingly, with no surprises.”

Talking about the show’s replacement ‘Story 9 Months Ki’, Tiwari said, “It has been a great journey Story 9 months Ki charts the accidental love story of the urbane Alia and desi Sarang, bound together by the unexpected miracle of IVF. I look forward to being a part of such unique concepts going forward as well.”

Producer Deeya Singh adds, “‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ was always planned as a finite story. It was about a daughter, who was looking for a suitable bride for her father Amber Sharma. Now that Niya has found her dad ki dulhan in Guneet Sikka, we are working towards culminating the story on a heart-warming note. The response that the show has received has been fantastic and encouraging. I’m glad that viewers loved the show’s progressive storyline. Overall, it’s been a great journey bringing to life the story of Niya, Amber and Guneet.”
