Its curtains down for Star Plus’ ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ after it was confirmed that ‘Mere Angne Mein’ will take its slot from later this month.

The popular show, which was moved out of the primetime slot earlier this year was based on the characters of Astha and Shlok played by Shrenu Parikh and Avinash Sachdev respectively.

The new show is based on the clash of ideologies. Set in Allahabad, ‘Mere Angne Mein’ will showcase the difference between the authoritative and democratic as well as the generation gap between the head of the family and the youngest members.

Ananya, who plays Sarla Aggarwal, Shanti Devi’s daughter, is a ‘bitter-sweet character’. “She is a negative and juicy character and is very much loved by the mother, but sometimes she takes advantage of the love which the mother showers on her,” added Ananya.

‘Mere Angne Mein’ launches on Monday 15th June at 17:30.
