‘Mental Hai Kya’ director denies Kangana Ranaut’s interference

Rumours over the past few days suggested that Kangana Ranaut has not been happy with the way her role has turned out in the upcoming release ‘Mental Hai Kya’. So much so, the actress has taken control over the film to improve the execution.

However, denying such interference, director Prakash Kovelamudi told DNA India, “On my set, Kangana was an actor; a professional one, and a creative asset. Both Kangana and Rajkummar [Rao] are powerhouse performers who I enjoyed directing. I am happy to see how their characters have turned out. Mental Hai Kya is an intriguing thriller with doses of quirk. The film challenges the norms, and I am thrilled to bring to the audience something original.”.

Reports also said that certain elements of the film were being re-shot. Kovelamudi said, “We finished the first leg in Mumbai, the second in London, and the last one in the city again. The final schedule was wrapped last month.”

The film hits cinemas on 26th July 2019.
