Media award winners at UK AMAs

The winners of this year’s UK Asian Music Awards (AMAs) have been announced.

After winning the title for ‘Best Asian Radio Station’ for the past two years, BBC Asian Network was beaten this time around by London’s young hit music station Club Asia.

Club Asia was competing with the likes of BBC Asian Network, Sunrise Radio, Sabras Radio and Yarr Radio.

The ‘Best Asian Radio Show’ went to Radio 1 duo Bobby and Nihal. Others fighting for the title on the night were Selena’s show from Choice FM, Sonia Deol’s Breakfast show on the BBC Asian Network, Jas The Man’s Breakfast show on Club Asia, Panjabi Hit Squad’s 1Xtra show and Manga’s Urban music show on Galaxy.

The ‘Best Asian Publication’ award went to Eastern Eye. It saw off competition from Asiana, Asian Woman and Des Pardes.

The awards will be screened on ARY Digital on Saturday 30th December.
