The third series of popular reality show ‘MasterChef India’ will be launching in the weekday primetime slot in March, BizAsia can confirm.

The new series, which will be known as ‘Masterchef Kitchen Ke Superstar’ will be moving from the weekend schedule to a new weekday slot – resulting in an existing weeknight drama facing the axe.

Star Plus senior director- marketing and communications Nikhil Madhok said, “The foremost difference is that this time Masterchef Kitchen Ke Superstar۪ will air as daily strip in prime time and not a weekend property. So viewers will get a chance to engage with the show every day and witness all the fun, excitement and tension every day.”

Madhok explained the decision on moving the show to a weekday slot, “It is a conscious decision from Star to be innovative and clutter breaking. We want to break the convention of reality shows airing on weekends.”

Star Plus will be a donning a new primetime schedule in the coming weeks with the launch of ‘MasterChef India’ and also Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new drama ‘SaraswatiChandra’. Keep it with BizAsia for the latest.
