‘MasterChef India’ to launch in weekday slot

The new series of ‘MasterChef India’ is expected to replace the long-running show ‘Veera’ in January, BizAsia can reveal.

According to sources close to Star Plus, the fourth series of ‘MasterChef India’ will take the weekday 22:30 slot from Monday 26th January. ‘MasterChef India’ is a show that celebrates people who make good food. It is a one-of-its-kind culinary competition series, based on the smash hit from the UK and Australia, of the same name.

The show ‘Veera’ has been performing well in the ratings, however the channel has been overhauling its output to give it a younger feel. ‘Veera’ is expected to breathe its last on Saturday 24th January, with ‘MasterChef India’ taking the vacant slot from the following Monday.

The channel is yet to officially announce the change.
