‘Mary Kom’ to premiere at TIFF 2014

With constant buzz around the new Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Mary Kom’, news has it that the film is to premiere at this year’s 39th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which will take place in September this year.

With the full trailer only having been released today, Hindustan Times��reports a member of the TIFF organisation team confirming, “Glamorous Indian star Priyanka Chopra completely transforms herself to play Mary Kom, world champion in women’s boxing. From traditional village life in remote Manipur state to high-stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF.”

Directed by Omung Kumar, ‘Mary Kom’ is based on the true story of the Olympic Medalist Indian Boxer MC Mary Kom. The film has been made with the real boxer supporting the cast and crew throughout the project.

TIFF will be a 10 day affair opening on 4th September and closing on 14th September.
