Manoj Bajpayee: “I do mainstream films to get strength as an actor”

Manoj Bajpayee, who is one of the finest actors of the industry who is known for his full conviction and resilience towards his work, is very excited for his role in upcoming movie ‘Tevar’. According to the actor, his role in the movie is never seen before avatar.

Bajpayee told IANS, “The role of Bahubali Gajender Singh is something that people have never seen earlier. He is a man from Mathura and he is a lover boy. But the dangerous part is that he falls in love with a girl who does not love him. And he is a hard core criminal and mafia of that area.”

When asked about his career, the 45-year-old of actor said, “I keep doing mainstream films whenever I am offered great roles. Mainstream gives me money and it adds a lot of value to Manoj Bajpayee which I use for my independent films”.

“If I do one commercial film, I do 5-6 independent films. I do mainstream films to get strength as an actor,” the actor added.

‘Tevar’ stars actor Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The movie is helmed by ace director Amit Sharma. ‘Tevar’ is a remake of director Gunasekhar’s 2003 Telugu film’Okkadu’, starring Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika Chawla.

The film is scheduled for release on 9th January 2015.
