Mannara: “I am not bold but my role in Zid is”

Actress Mannara, who will mark her debut in Hindi film industry with ‘Zid’, recently said that she is here to act and not to become a showstopper or a glam doll.

Talking about her expectations from her first film, she told IANS, “There is lot of expectation with your first film but I am a kind of a person who doesn’t keep any expectations. But, the kind of response we have been receiving for our work is humbling. It feels good when you get such a warm welcome from the industry.”

When asked what kind of roles she would like to do, the actress said, “As an actress, whatever will be challenging for me I will do it. I am here to act and not to be a showstopper or a glam doll. If you are an actor you have to portray the character given to you.”

Further talking about her bold character and the poster of the upcoming film, she said, “It might be bold for you but I am not bold. My character is bold in the film. Yes, the film has a bold poster and that’s one shade of that character.”

Mannara is the cousin of Bollywood’s dusky beauty Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.

‘Zid’ is helmed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Anubhav Sinha. The film also features Karanvir Sharma and is slated to release on 28th November.
