Manisha Koirala on playing Nargis Dutt

Manisha Koirala will be making her B-town comeback in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic, playing Nargis Dutt. Hirani has said he signed the actress as she’s a cancer survivor but to play a character who loses a battle with cancer is something Koirala will find a little bit too close to heart.

“Yes, I will have to relive those painful moments. But I am an actor. It is my job and I hope I do it well,” said Koirala, according to TOI.

The actress also added that she can add something more to the role because she will identify with the experience, “It is so true. I firmly believe that we can make the worst situation of our life into a narrative of triumph. As an actor, if I can take the experience of my trauma and put it in a form of performance, I would love to do that”.

Ranbir Kapoor is, of course, taking on the role of Dutt.
