Manisha Koirala whowas diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few years ago, recently attended the ‘Health and Awareness Festival’ in Patna, where shespoke about her battle with the disease, and the constant support she received from her family and friends.
The Daily Mail U.K. reports Koirala saying, “I was devastated when the doctors first broke the news to me. I kept on asking them how much time I was left with. I was scared and thought I had lost everything I had. But I realized that being positive was necessary in fighting off the disease. I was fortunate that my family and friends stood by me. My father was by my side all the time and ensured that I stayed happy during my treatment. My family was my support system. I had the freedom to do whatever I felt happy with. This also helped me stay in a positive frame of mind.”
Koirala went through treatment in the U.S. and is hearty and healthy now.
